OnePlus 8T OxygenOS 11 Update Improves Camera, Power Consumption & More

Just after a week of receiving the OxygenOS 11.0.2.3 update, OnePlus has now started rolling out a new OxygenOS 11 update for OnePlus 8T, that brings improvements to the camera, power consumption, and more.

OnePlus 8T is the latest and premium flagship offering from the company. Unlike previous years, OnePlus stuck with the OnePlus 8T and did not release the Pro variant of the device.

The reason was pretty simple. OnePlus 8T packs all of the best components OnePlus would want to put and offer for the year 2020.

To recall, the device comes with a punch-hole 120Hz refresh rate 6.5-inch display, Snapdragon 865+ chipset coupled with 8/12GB of RAM. There is a 48MP quad-camera setup that is capable of recording 4K@60fps.

More importantly, OnePlus bundled the OnePlus 8T with a 4,500 mAh battery that comes with a 65W fast charger. This is insane and the best specs the company could produce for this year.

Hence, no “Pro” variant of the phone. On the software end, the phone has already received the stable Android 11 OxygenOS 11 update. And is among some of the first devices to be running the stable version of the OS.

OxygenOS 11 update for OnePlus 8T fixes multiple bugs and improves camera stability

Coming back to the update, it brings fixes for several bugs like the status bar issue, Play Store could not install an app issue, network interruption issue, etc.

Moreover, the update also improves the power consumption performance to reduce heat dissipation. For cameras, the update improves the imaging effect for a better shooting experience and also optimizes the stability of the camera app.

The update does not include the latest November 2020 security patch. And it leaves the security patch level to October 2020. The update arrives with version number OxygenOS 11.0.3.4.

For a complete changelog for this new OnePlus 8T OxygenOS 11 update, you can head over here. Like always, the update has been pushed via OTA in batches.

So, it will take some time in hitting all the OnePlus 8T units. Apparently, the update is currently rolling out for the OnePlus 8T users in India. But other regions are expected to join soon.

If you have not yet received the update, then you can head over to Settings>>System>>System Updates. If the system detects a new update, then it will prompt you to download the latest update. Once the download is complete, you can go ahead and install the update.

OnePlus is very aggressively working on building its offline market in India. It recently opened up OnePlus’s biggest Experience Store in Hyderabad India called the “OnePlus Nizam Palace.”

It is built on an area of over 16,000 sqft and it includes a large customer service center with cubicles for customers to meet and consult with the executives.
