According to a report out of Android Central, OnePlus is set to launch the Nord SE in the first quarter of next year. Using Apple’s naming scheme once again for its smartphones. It also use the “T” as a node to Apple’s “S” smartphones (OnePlus was clever in saying that “OnePlus S = T”).
Unsurprisingly, the OnePlus Nord SE is looking like a pretty impressive device. It is codenamed Ebba. And it’ll feature the Warp Charge 65 charging technology from the OnePlus 8T.
Many other specs have not been unveiled, but we do know that it’ll have a 4500mAh capacity battery and thanks to the 65W charging, it can charge in under 40 minutes. It will also have the Snapdragon 765G included, for 5G as well as an AMOLEd display. That points to the Nord SE actually being a slightly more high-end phone than the Nord N10 5G and N100 which have LCD displays.
Where will the OnePlus Nord SE be available?
The OnePlus Nord SE is set to be available in India and Europe. Considering OnePlus’ biggest market is India, it makes perfect sense that this is heading to India. Unfortunately for those in the US, it won’t be coming here. At least that is the current plan for the Nord SE. Of course things can (and likely will) change between now and then.
As mentioned, the Nord SE is slated for a Q1 2021 release. It’s possible that it could be announced at CES in January. Since Mobile World Congress has been moved to the summer. Which would make this the second smartphone company planning to release a smartphone at or around CES – the Galaxy S21 is also expected around that time. Which is a stark difference for CES.
OnePlus also has many more Nord smartphones planned for 2021 and beyond. So even if the Nord SE doesn’t come to the US, there are plenty of others coming and likely coming to the US.
