As per a new report by PhoneArena, yet-unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 and 775G processors’ AnTuTu benchmark scores have been leaked by a well-known Weibo based blogger, Digital Chat Station.
Benchmark scores are a method to compare different devices or components like the SoC. The fundamental idea behind benchmark tests is to determine which smartphone, processor, etc. is the most powerful in the market, in terms of hardware. Benchmark scores do not show real world performance, of course.
Moreover, this also helps to determine which processor or handset is the best available in the current market. Several smartphone enthusiasts and reviewers make use of benchmark tests like AnTuTu to know the benchmark scores.
Recently, the AnTuTu benchmark scores of the upcoming Snapdragon 875 and 775G processors have been leaked. The initial scores put forward some exciting numbers.
As per the leak, the Snapdragon 875 processor scored 740,000 in the AnTuTu benchmark test. FYI, this is approximately 28% higher than its predecessor, i.e. the Snapdragon 865+.
The test was carried on an unnamed device. Note that mostly all the flagship smartphones in 2021 by Samsung, OnePlus, etc. will be powered by the Snapdragon 875 chipset.
The Snapdragon 865+ will remain the flagship processor until the end of this year. Well, the higher AnTuTu score of the Snapdragon 875 SoC is a good sign for a 5nm chipset compared to chips previously, made using the 7nm node.
Gaming-centered Snapdragon 775G scored an impressive 530,000 in AnTuTu tests
Besides the flagship Snapdragon 875 SoC, the gamin-centered Snapdragon 775G processor also came out with impressive AnTuTu benchmark scores.
It scored 530,000 in AnTuTu tests. This is an astonishing 67% hike from the average 316,534 AnTuTu score received by the Snapdragon 765G.
What’s more interesting is that this score is just 8% lower as compared to the AnTuTu benchmark score of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor.
Apparently, both the Snapdragon 875 and 775G processors will launch during the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020 next month.
Xiaomi may be the first OEM to come with Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro powered by the Snapdragon 875 SoC. However, these are just speculations and nothing is confirmed as of now.
Recently, Apple introduced its iPhone 12 lineup. These are the first smartphones powered by a 5nm chip. The entire iPhone 12 lineup is powered by the Apple A14 Bionic 5nm processor.
In fact, a 5nm processor can also be found on the Huawei Mate 40 lineup which comes with Kirin 9000 SoC. The Snapdragon 875 chipset will be manufactured using Samsung’s 5nm EUV process.
This process gives the liberty to fit in a larger number of transistors onto a square mm. The output would be a powerful and energy-efficient chipset. We are looking forward to the launch of both the Snapdragon 875 and 775G in December.
