Samsung's Galaxy S21 Launch Event May Be Just Around The Corner

Samsung is rumored to launch the Galaxy S21 series earlier than expected next year. A new report from South Korea also suggests a similar time frame for the launch of the next-gen flagship smartphones from Samsung. The company’s change in strategy is due to the expected onslaught from the newly launched 5G iPhones.

By launching early, Samsung might have the new generation flagship smartphones to take on the new Apple iPhones. In Q3 of this year, Samsung once again became the leading smartphone manufacturer in the world. With the early launch of the Galaxy S21 series, the company might also further strengthen its market leader position.

The Galaxy S21 launch event will take place in January

According to the source, Samsung might have the Galaxy S21 launch event in January. Apparently, the devices will be on sale starting late January or early February. If you didn’t know, Samsung held this year’s first Galaxy Unpacked event on February 11 to announce the Galaxy S20 smartphones.

Recently, it was reported that Samsung seems to have started Galaxy S21 Ultra production. While there is no confirmation of the mass production, it could have also been just for sampling. Speaking of the Galaxy S21 series, there are already several leaks about these upcoming smartphones.

Only the Galaxy S21 Ultra to continue with the curved display

As per the recent leaks, the company might go back to using the flat panel displays on its flagship devices. Even the recently launched Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 FE also came with flat Infinity-O AMOLED displays. Only the top-of-the-line Galaxy S21 Ultra might come with a dual-curved display.

Samsung will be selling the Snapdragon 875-powered smartphones in China, South Korea, and the US. Obviously, the other markets will be getting the Galaxy S21 smartphones powered by the in-house Exynos 2100 chipset. The leaked renders confirmed the presence of the huge camera bump on the back of these upcoming flagship smartphones.

Additionally, the camera bump is now curved into the frame of the device. A few weeks back, Samsung mocked Apple for removing the power adapter and earphones from the retail box. Meanwhile, the new leaks suggest Samsung might also ditch the accessories starting with the 2021 flagship smartphones.

Samsung might also release a new version of One UI 3.0 (could be One UI 3.1) with these new flagship smartphones. Eventually, the Galaxy S21 series will come with the latest Android 11-based One UI out of the box.
