Unlocked Microsoft Surface Duo Picks Up November Update

Good news, if you own a Microsoft Surface Duo device. As the company is now rolling out the latest November update for the unlocked variants of the Surface Duo.

The dual-screened device created much hype before its launch. But soon after it came into the hands of the reviewers, it came to highlight that the software was indeed buggy and needed a fix.

The Microsoft Duo sports two 5.6-inch AMOLED displays sporting a resolution of 1350 x 1800. The most fascinating thing about the Microsoft Surface Duo is the 180-degree hinge.

You can use the first display by folding the screen all the way to the back. Or flip it open like a book, to, you know, actually read a book. In order to improve productivity, users can also purchase a Surface Pen to draw, write, etc.

And as per a new report by Windows Central, the November update is now live for the device. It weighs around 137MB in size. So, it won’t be a huge bump on your data pack, if you are using one.

The update includes the latest November 5, 2020, Android security patch level. Note that the update is live only for the unlocked Surface Duo devices. But the locked carrier variants would soon pick up the update.

Surface Duo update improves camera image quality, touch and device stability, and more

Well, that’s not it. This new Microsoft Surface Duo November update brings tons of fixes, which the users were waiting for since their purchase.

Notably, the update brings refinement to the camera image quality, improves the touch and device stability, improves moving and dismissing of apps across both the screens, etc.

All in all, it is a much-needed update that the users were waiting eagerly for, at least as per the changelog. The update is arriving with version number 2020.1014.61.

This is the second update for the Microsoft Surface Duo device. The first one was the October 2020 security update that it received in the previous month.

For the complete changelog of the November update for Microsoft Surface Duo, you can check out the Windows Central website. The update is hitting the device via OTA in batches.

If you have not yet received the update on your device, then you can head over to Settings > System Update > Check for update. If a new update is available, tap on it to install.

Once the installation is done, your device will restart. The Surface Duo was launched with Android 10 out of the box. There were several talks that it will get updated to Android 11.

But it is about two months since the launch of Android 11 and Surface Duo, there is no sign of Android 11 in the vicinity. We will keep you updated regarding the same if something comes up to our table.
