Get 50% Off Google One Top Tier Storage Plans

Last month Google dropped a bomb when they announced Google Photos would no longer offer unlimited storage. Now users can get 50% off Google One plans according to Android Police. The original announcement left users with two choices. Pay for storage from Google, or from somewhere else.

Now, this only applies to the top-tier storage plans. The 10TB, 20TB, and 30TB plans are 50% less than they previously were. They now cost $49.99, $99.99, and $149.99 respectively. This comes as a welcome surprise for users who truly rely on Google photos to store their photos and high-quality videos.

Now, these discounts are available to both existing and new subscribers. Existing users will instantly see savings without having to do anything else. For users who use the lower tier plans, there are currently no announcements of discounts.

50% Off Google One Storage Really Helps

For those who are unfamiliar with Google One, it is a premium subscription from Google that offers not only photo storage, but other features. These features include storage for Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and other workspace applications.

Along with those features subscribers also receive 10% cashback in-store credit. You also get access to a free VPN. That last feature is a big addition for anyone who wants to keep their web browsing sessions safe and secure. For the prices that Google is charging these features are worth it.

To clarify if you subscribe to Google One, even on the lower tiers, you will receive the 10% cashback and free VPN. There is another positive here. Each plan can be shared with up to 5 family members. These price reductions are nice, but if you are a user who does not need this much storage you may be inclined to ignore this information. The extra features you receive aside from the storage are very useful though.

Unfortunately, Google Photos will lose its unlimited storage option. Even so, Google will still offer 15GB of free storage. That amount will serve many users just fine. For the truly storage hungry photographer, you can now take advantage of Google One’s new discounted storage plans. Even if you do not go for the higher 10TB, 20TB, or 30TB plans the other options are still competitively priced.

There is still time before the free unlimited storage ends. June next year is when the unlimited storage will end for users. There is still time to decide if you need more than the free 15GB Google will provide. Just don’t wait too long.
