Galaxy S21 Family Coming Without Chargers, In Some Regions At Least

The Samsung Galaxy S21 family will ship without chargers after all, well, at least in some regions. All three Galaxy S21 devices got certified in Brazil, and they don’t come with chargers.

The phones got certified by ANATEL, which is the country’s equivalent to the FCC. This was spotted by Technoblog, and the devices certified are the Galaxy S21 (SM-G991B/DS), Galaxy S21+ (SM-G996B/DS), and Galaxy S21 Ultra (SM-G998/DS).

Needless to say, this is Apple’s doing, or should I say influence. The Cupertino giant once again started a trend that is highly unpopular in the community, as it didn’t include chargers with the iPhone 12 series.

Samsung will follow suit, it seems, at least in some regions. Do note that this doesn’t mean the Galaxy S21 series devices will ship without chargers in all regions. There is still hope, of course, but it’s possible they will.

Samsung did tease Apple when the company decided to remove chargers from the box. It started mocking the move via social media, and Samsung is now doing the same thing, basically.

Now, Samsung may try to make up for this by including a pair of wireless earbuds with the Galaxy S21 units (in some regions), but those are just rumors at this point. All we can do is wait, and see what’s the company’s plan.

The Galaxy S21 series is expected to launch in mid-January. That means the devices are coming six weeks earlier than usual, as Samsung usually launches the Galaxy S devices towards the end of February.

The phones will probably become available in February, though, at least according to the information shared by our source recently. That information does apply for the US market, so things may vary in other regions.

We’ve seen quite a few leaks when it comes to all three of those devices. If you’d like to know more about the Galaxy S21 series, feel free to check out our Galaxy S21 preview.
