LG Rollable May Be Even More Expensive Than Expected

The LG Rollable smartphone is expected to launch in H1 next year, and according to a new rumor, it may be extremely expensive. This information comes from @cozyplanes, a tipster who is not exactly always accurate. Having said that, take this info with a grain of salt.

In a tweet, he mentioned that the LG Rollable handset may cost $2,359. That is a rather specific, and odd price tag, but let’s roll with it for now. It wouldn’t surprise us if the device ends up costing somewhere around that, though.

The LG Rollable will be the world’s first commercially-available rollable smartphone, at least that’s what’s expected to happen. OPPO did announce its rollable smartphone concept, but that device is not available, and won’t become available anytime soon.

Based on the latest information that surfaced, the LG Rollable will become official in March. The tipster notes that the launch may be delayed to June, though, so nothing is set in stone just yet.

The LG Rollable may be more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2

If this price tag ends up being accurate, the LG Rollable will be even more expensive than the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Considering that it will be the first of its kind, that price tag may even be fair in some eyes. That doesn’t change the fact it’s going to be quite steep, though. As already mentioned, though, take that price tag with a grain of salt.

The same tipster who shared the price tag for the device, also shared some spec information. Based on his information, the phone’s display will be able to expand to a 7.4-inch panel.

In ‘phone mode’, the resolution will be 2428 x 1080, with a 20:9 aspect ratio. In ‘video mode’, you’ll get a resolution of 2428 x 1366, with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The ‘productivity mode’ brings a resolution of 2428 x 1600, and the aspect ratio of 3:2.

The device will, allegedly, be fueled by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, and include 16GB of RAM. A 4,200mAh battery has also been mentioned by the source. We’re still not too sure about all this information, so keep that in mind. More info will keep on coming in the coming months, though.
