This Video Apparently Shows The Galaxy S21 & How Well It Benchmarks

Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy S21 family in early January this time around, which means we are in full rumor and leak season right now. Today, we’re seeing a new video on YouTube which apparently shows the Galaxy S21 in a new leak. Now the person with the phone only mentions the Galaxy S21, so this should be the smaller of the three models that Samsung is releasing in 2021.

It’s a fairly quick video, so we don’t see a whole lot of the design of the phone. But from what we can see, it does line up with the previous leaks we’ve seen. And this appears to be the black color variant.

The user does use most of the four minute video showing off Geekbench testing and the score. Which is 1115 in the single-core and 3326 in the multi-core. The model number is SM-G996U which lines up with previous rumors of the Galaxy S21+ too.

It’s likely the Snapdragon 888 model

While we don’t know for sure, this does seem to be very likely the Snapdragon 888 5G model of the Galaxy S21. As Geekbench shows the layout of the cores, which line up with the Snapdragon 888 5G. And we don’t know much about the Exynos chipset that is going to be used in the Galaxy S21 yet.

There was some talk about Samsung possibly not using the Snapdragon 888 5G this year, since Qualcomm didn’t mention Samsung as one of the first to use that chipset. So this should make quite a few people happy. As we know how bad Exynos chipsets tend to be in recent history.

Samsung is set to announce the Galaxy S21 series on January 14, as the finale of CES 2021. And pre-orders open that same day with the device being on sale January 29. So there’s not much time left before the Galaxy S21 does become official.
