OnePlus 8T Update Brings New Keyboard Feature, Boosts Security & More

The OnePlus 8T is now receiving a new update, which brings a new keyboard feature, amongst other things. This update also boosts the phone’s security, and delivers quite a few optimizations to the table.

The update is marked as OxygenOS 11.0.6.7 and 11.0.6.8, depending on the market. The latter is reserved for Europe. It is rolling out all over the globe, though, and it’s rolling out OTA (Over The Air).

Having said that, the update weighs approximately 541MB. OnePlus did share the entire changelog, so let’s start with a new feature, shall we. This update brings a keyboard height adjustment option.

You can now raise or hide the bottom shortcut bar for a better input experience. This is something users have been requesting for a while. Simply navigate to Settings -> System -> Language & Input -> Keyboard height adjustment.

This update also brings a new Android security patch to the OnePlus 8T. A security patch for November 2020 is here. The full-screen gestures have been optimized as well, while the company increased fingerprint unlock success rates for faster unlock speed.

Nightscape performance has been improved

The image quality for Nightscape has also been boosted. So, the phone should not take even better photos in low light, when you decided to utilize the Nightscape feature.

In some cases, photos did not display in the OnePlus Gallery, and OnePlus has now fixed the issue. The problem in which the WiFi connection failed in a specific situation has also been fixed, while the stability of communication features has also been improved.

This update is already rolling out, though you may not get it straight away. It is rolling out in stages, so it may take up to about a week for everyone to get it. You can check for the update manually via Settings, or simply wait for the phone to let you know once it’s available.
