You Can Soon Use Your PS5 To Watch Wonder Woman 1984 Via HBO Max

The PS5 launched with a handful of video apps for watching streaming TV and movies, and now you can add HBO Max to the list of what was already there.

While it isn’t technically a launch day app, it’s only been a little over a month since the PS5 launched, so it didn’t take too long for HBO Max to show up. And now that it’s here you can enjoy the plethora of content within. So long as you subscribe to the service.

The good thing is if you upgraded to the PS% from a PS4 and you subscribed to HBO Max on that console, then your account will easily transfer over.

HBO Max on PS5 is just in time for new movie releases

Next week, HBO Max will begin streaming new movies at the same time as they release on theaters.

This includes all 2021 movies from Warner Bros., though it obviously won’t be all movies at once. It does however start next week as Wonder Woman 1984 releases in theaters and on HBO Max on December 25. Making the PS5 release of HBO Max sort of perfect timing.

If you end up feeling a little bored on Christmas day and you get a PS5 as a gift (or you already have one), you’ll have something extra to do on it now. Warner Bros. won’t be the only studio placing its movies on HBO Max either.

And aside from the big Hollywood films, HBO Max has plenty of other content to dive into. Like Max originals, hit HBO series like Game Of Thrones, and a large suite of Studio Ghibli films as well as other anime.

There’s no shortage of stuff to watch on HBO Max to be sure.

Last in line

When it comes to major platforms, the PS5 is more or less the last in line. HBO Max was already available everywhere else.

Last-gen consoles have had it since HBO Max’s release. And both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, as well as Amazon’s Fire TV gained access back in November. Why the PS5 didn’t have HBO Max right at launch is a mystery.

But then again does the reason really matter? It’s been a little over a month and PS5 owners have made it this far without it. And now it’s available to download as of today, so all is well.
