A few days ago, Verizon became the first US carrier to roll out the stable Android 11 One UI 3.0 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Now, AT&T has joined the list and is seeding the Android 11 update for the device.
Notably, this makes AT&T the second US carrier to roll out the update. AT&T released the Galaxy Z Fold 2 Android 11 update back on January 20, 2021.
Samsung began One UI 3.0 beta testing back in November for the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Soon after, it started rolling out for the carrier unlocked variants in Germany.
The update has already gone live for multiple markets. Now slowly but steadily, carrier-locked models of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 are also joining the bandwagon and getting updated with Android 11 One UI 3.0.
Good thing is that AT&T did not keep its user in confusion and has already updated its official Galaxy Z Fold 2 software update page with the latest information.
The AT&T Galaxy Z Fold 2 Android 11 update arrives with firmware version F916USQU1CTLL with build CTLL. Moreover, it weighs around 2.3GB in size. So, we would advise the owners to download this update on a stable Wi-Fi connection.
AT&T Galaxy Z Fold 2 Android 11 update also bundles January 2021 security patch
Talking about Android 11 features, it adds chat bubbles, a conversation section in the notifications area, a one-time permissions option, dedicated media playback widget, and much more.
Samsung has also included tons of new features with One UI 3.0. For instance, AOD, lock screen tweaks, redesigned volume controls, Samsung Free, improved Single Take feature, etc.
The update also bumps the security patch level to the latest, i.e. January 2021, which is nice to see. The changelog doesn’t mention much, and simply says, “Android 11 OS update.”
Since the update has been pushed via OTA in batches, it will take some time before hitting all the AT&T Galaxy Z Fold 2 variants. If you still haven’t received the update then, you can manually check for it on your phone.
To do that, you need to head over to the “Settings” menu, navigate to “System updates.” From there, tap the “Download and install” option. This will trigger your Galaxy Z Fold 2 to begin checking for the new update.
You can proceed with downloading and installation of the update if your device detects a new update. Samsung, on the other hand, has also started rolling out the Android 11 update for mid-range devices.
Recently, it pushed the One UI 3.0 update for the Galaxy M31, making it the first mid-range device to receive the update. More devices will be ticked off from the Android 11 update list in the coming days. So, keep a check on the software update section.
