LifeProof is stepping up for the recently-launched Samsung Galaxy S21 5G series with no fewer than three cases and a new screen protector. Or, more accurately, two cases — with one extra antimicrobial option.
Dubbed LifeProof WĀKE and NËXT, the new cases are designed to take care of Samsung’s pricey new handsets. For clarity, that’s so you can protect Samsung’s new $799 Galaxy S21 5G, $999 Galaxy S21+ 5G, and $1,299 Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. But they take things a bit further than other cases often do as well, helping you protect the environment.
LifeProof WĀKE, for example, is a protective case that’s made from 85-percent ocean-based recycled plastic. The LifeProof NËXT, conversely, is made up of 55-percent recycled plastics.

With that said, there are some differences between the cases beyond how environmentally friendly they are. And, as noted above, there are actually three options here. LifeProof WĀKE is a solid-color case with sculpted wave pattern accents. And it’s also been rated to survive drops from 2 meters — that’s just over six-and-a-half feet. And it accomplishes that while maintaining a slim profile.
The case is available in three colors. There’s a standard “Black” variation, for those who want to keep things simple. But there are also Green and Blue variants, which come with orange or green accents, respectively.
LifeProof NËXT is a more rugged two-piece offering, delivering 6.6-feet of DropProof protection but in a smoother format. There are two options here, either antimicrobial or not, but the same colors are available and the pricing is identical regardless of which is chosen. Both color configurations start with a clear rear panel and an open front. That’s as opposed to cases that come with a built-in screen. The edges are colored in either a Napa Purple Lavendar color or Black.
For LifeProof NËXT, the cases also come with sealed port covers.
Last but not least, in addition to the cases, LifeProof has also updated its Alpha Flex line of screen protectors to include the new Samsung Galaxy S21 5G series. That way, when the pre-installed protector finally needs to be replaced, buyers can have some spares waiting.
So what’s the cost to protect your investment?
Now, pricing for the new protective gear and cases from LifeProof for the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G series is the same across the board. More succinctly, regardless of which phone needs to be protected, the price will remain a constant for LifeProof cases. And, of course, the color and style options are the same across the board as well.
The LifeProof WĀKE is available in Blue/Green, Green/Orange, and Black configurations for just $39.99. The transparent NËXT case, conversely, can be had with either Lavender or Black accents for $79.99. And that MSRP is the same regardless of whether the antimicrobial or standard version is purchased.
