Today, Samsung announced the Galaxy S21 5G series of smartphones.
Like last year, that includes three new smartphones in this series. Which include the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra. With the Galaxy S21 and S21+ being the latest flagship experience, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra being the “ultimate smartphone experience” according to Samsung.
All three models do support 5G, with both mmWave and Sub-6 available on all three. Meaning that we won’t be seeing a dedicated mmWave model of the Galaxy S21, like we did for the Galaxy S20 last year.
The Galaxy S21 comes with a 6.2-inch FHD+ display, Galaxy S21 has a larger 6.7-inch FHD+ display. Meanwhile the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 6.8-inch QHD+ display.
Triple and quad camera setups
The Galaxy S21 and S21+ both have triple camera setups. Which consist of a 12-megapixel ultra-wide, 12-megapixel wide and a 64-megapixel telephoto. With a 10-megapixel front-facing sensor.
Meanwhile the Galaxy S21 Ultra goes a step further, with a 108-megapixel wide, 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and two 10-megapixel telephoto lenses. The two telephoto lenses are 3x telephoto and 10x telephoto. Giving you a better experience with Space Zoom, which can still do up to 100x.
With the upgraded cameras, Samsung is also updating some of its camera software. Like Single Shot. It is now more powerful thanks to AI, and is able to make a reel based off of different moments that were captured. It analyzes more frames per second too, so you can get more shots that you might have missed.
Portrait mode has been updated, and now uses enhanced AI. Giving you better effects, as well as studio lighting effects for some really cool looking portrait shots from all three of the Galaxy S21 smartphones.
Flagship specs to boot
As expected, all three models of the Galaxy S21 series have flagship specs, even with the Ultra model being a slight upgrade from the other two Galaxy S21 models. Though you will notice a couple of downgrades from last year’s Galaxy S20 series. Like the FHD display and only 8GB of RAM.
