Nokia 6.3/6.4 Surfaces With A Big Display & A Headphone Jack

Thanks to Steve Hemmerstoffer, we may have our first look at the Nokia 6.3/6.4. Unfortunately, the name of the new device isn’t finalized yet. The naming is still ultimately up to Nokia, but Steve believes this will the name of the upcoming affordable device.

Nokia recently jumped from X.2 to X.4 for some of their device names so we’ll have to wait for the official name. However, the successor to the Nokia 6.2 will come with a 6.45-inch flat display. Thankfully, some OEMs are sticking with flat panels as the curved ones are absolutely beautiful, but impractical at times.

The screen will feature a waterdrop notch. The screen will sit in a 164.9mm height, 76.8 wide, and 9.2mm thick body. With the camera bump, the thickness is 10,1mm.

This screen will be a welcome upgrade over the smaller screen the Nokia 6.2 had. The former Nokia 6.2 had a 6.3-inch display. On the back of the device, the Nokia 6.3/6.4 will have a quad-camera system sitting in a circular housing. Underneath the cameras will an oval-shaped dual flash which should help in low light scenarios.

The Nokia 6.3/6.4 will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack

Next up is the fingerprint sensor. It is now embedded in the power button on the side of the phone instead of on the back like the Nokia 6.2. This has become a trend lately when it comes to putting a fingerprint sensor somewhere easily accessible. It is cheaper than an under-screen sensor and easier to access than a rear sensor.

As has been the case with a few Nokia devices recently the new device will include an additional button for Google Assistant. Having a dedicated button to summon Google Assistant seems to have become popular recently. The button makes it easier to summon the assistant.

As a final surprise, the new device will have a 3.5mm headphone jack thankfully. 3.5mm headphone jacks are still in demand by a lot of people despite the push to go wireless. Mid-range and low-end devices tend to offer this wanted feature. However, flagship devices tend to always forgo it which is a shame.

Those who are interested in getting their hands on the Nokia 6.3/6.4 will have to be patient. Steve did not give an exact release date but noted that it is expected to be unveiled no later than April. Depending on the price the device could be a strong competitor in the affordable smartphone arena.
