The OnePlus Band is now official. The company has announced its very first fitness tracker in India. This smart band not only resembles Xiaomi’s Mi Band lineup when it comes to the design, but it’s here to provide major competition for that device.
The OnePlus Band features a 1.1-inch 294 x 126 AMOLED display. That display is touch-sensitive, and it offers adjustable brightness. The OnePlus Band is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 LE.
This smart band can be connected to Android, and it will be capable of connecting to iOS soon as well. You’ll need Android 6.0+ in order to use it, though, so keep that in mind. OnePlus released the OnePlus Health app for connection and control purposes.
The OnePlus Band can be your swimming companion
The device is IP68 + 5ATM certified. That means that it’s not only dust resistant, but that it can go below the water surface as well, up to 50 meters. So, you can easily go swim with this thing, and it should be okay.
This smart band can push notifications to your wrist, from your phone. It can also notify you of incoming calls, allows you to reject calls, it has a built-in stopwatch and timer. The alarm is also available, as is the ‘Find My Phone’ option.
Zen Mode synchronization is also something you’ll find here, with select OnePlus smartphones. On top of all that, the Weather forecast option is also available on the device.
A heart rate sensor is included, as is SpO2 monitoring
The OnePlus Band does allow you to control the music on your smartphone, and the same goes for the camera shutter. It comes with a heart rate sensor, and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring.
It can track your activity, and your sleep as well. There are 13 exercise models pre-installed on the device. You have access to Outdoor Run, Indoor Run, Fat Burn Run, Outdoor Walk, Outdoor Cycling, Indoor Cycling, Elliptical Trainer, Rowing Machine, Cricket, Badminton, Pool Swimming, Yoga and Free Training.
A 3.axis accelerometer is a part of the package, as is a Gyroscope. A 110mAh battery is included, and the company says that it can provide you with up to 14 days of battery life.
The device itself (main tracker) measures 40.4 x 17.6 x 11.45mm, while it weighs 10.3 grams. If you add a band to it, it weighs 22.6 grams in total. The band itself measures 257 x 21 x 0.7mm.
The device comes in a Black color only, but its bands are available in several color variants, Black, Navy, and Tangerine Gray. The device will go on sale in India starting on January 12, at 9 AM EST. It will be available from OnePlus.in and the OnePlus Store app exclusively.
The device is quite affordable
From January 13, Indian consumers will be able to get it across OnePlus.in, OnePlus Store app, Amazon.in, Flipkart, OnePlus exclusive offline stores, and partner outlets. The price tag for the device is INR2,499 ($34), while the straps are priced at INR399 ($6).
The OnePlus Band is expected to make a global debut at some point in the future. It may arrive alongside the OnePlus 9 series, or perhaps sooner than that, we’ll see.
