The Samsung Galaxy A02 is finally official. Do not get it mixed up with the Galaxy A02s, as that device originally launched back in November last year. The two devices do not have much in common, other than the fact they’re both budget phones.
The Samsung Galaxy A02 is made out of plastic, and it offers an audio jack
The Galaxy A02 is made out of plastic, and its backplate has a rather interesting pattern. The bottom bezel is quite noticeable, as it’s considerably thicker than the rest of them. A waterdrop display notch is here as well.
All the physical buttons sit on the right-hand side of the device. We’re looking at the power / lock button, and the volume rocker buttons above it. There are two cameras included on the back, and they’re vertically-aligned.
Below those two camera units, you’ll notice an LED flash. Samsung’s logo is also placed on the back side of this phone. Samsung did include a headphone jack on this phone as well.
The Galaxy A02 features a 6.5-inch HD+ (1560 x 720) LCD Infinity-V display. It comes in a 2GB RAM variant with 32GB of storage, and a 3GB RAM model which comes with either 32GB or 64GB of storage.
Android 10 comes pre-installed on the phone, along with Samsung’s One UI. A 5,000mAh battery is included in the package, and it supports 7.75W wired charging.
You can expand its internal storage
Dolby Atmos support is also included when it comes to audio, which is kind of surprising. The phone includes two SIM card slots (2x nano SIM), and a separate microSD card slot. So, you can expand its storage (with a microSD card up to 1TB).
MediaTek’s MT6739W 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this smartphone. The phone supports Dual 4G VoLTE, and it comes with Bluetooth 5 support. There are two cameras on its back, and one camera on the front.
A 13-megapixel main camera (f/1.9 aperture) is backed by a 2-megapixel macro camera (f/2.4 aperture). A 5-megapixel unit (f/2.0 aperture) sits on the front side of the phone.
The Galaxy A02 measures 164 x 75.9 x 9.1mm, while it weighs 206 grams. The device comes in Denim Black, Denim Blue, Denim Red, and Denim Gray color variants. We still don’t know its price tag, but more info is coming soon.
