Samsung Galaxy SmartTag and SmartTag+ Launch Coming Soon

According to 91mobiles Samsung plans to launch two tracking tags. The Galaxy SmartTag and SmartTag+ are expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S21 series on January 14. So, if you are someone who loses your keys or other items easily then Samsung has you covered.

The smart tracking devices from Samsung will be launched at Samsung’s Unpacked event 2021 on January 14. Details had been only rumors until now. Thanks to Ishan Agarwal, a reliable source for tech leaks, we now know that there will be a Galaxy SmartTag and SmartTag+.

Originally it was only thought that there would be just the Galaxy SmartTag. The regular Galaxy SmartTag will have the model number El-T5300 and the plus variant will feature the El-t7300 model number. The feature list for the upcoming smart trackers has also been revealed as well.

The Galaxy SmartTag will automatically connect to Galaxy devices. This is to be expected as Samsung has done this previously with their Galaxy Buds Live. Users will also be able to ring their phone by pressing the button twice. In addition, they can even share the location with their family and friends.

The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag/SmartTag+ will respect your privacy

One feature that is sure to be welcome is end-to-end encryption. It will also have a “Privacy ID” for security. A focus on privacy is very welcome especially considering many companies have gotten in trouble in this regard. The smart tracker will measure 4cmx4cmx1cm and weigh 13 grams. It will come in five different colors and come in packs of two. The colors available are Black, Oatmeal, Denim Blue, and Mint.

Unfortunately, the features for the plus model are unknown at the moment. But, it is expected that it will have the same features as the base model with a few extra. Earlier this month the device’s design was spotted on the NCC. It appears the design will be the same and have a squarish form factor and a lanyard shaped hole.

Thankfully, the price has been confirmed and it isn’t bad. The smart tracker could cost around EUR 15 (about $18 USD). Unfortunately, that is all that was revealed by the leaker.

Again, the new smart trackers should be released along with the companies new Samsung Galaxy S21. The Samsung Galaxy S21 will reveal feature some nice features like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, a beautiful OLED screen, 120Hz refresh rate, and a triple rear camera array. With those features, the Galaxy S21 will command a lot of attention, but the new smart trackers will be welcome as well. You can tune into Samsung’s Unpacked event 2021 on January 14.
