Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 Starts Receiving A Major Update

Samsung is known for pushing timely updates to its Android smartphones. However, the company is not far behind in terms of updates for its Galaxy Watches. A major update is now live for the Galaxy Watch Active 2.

Having smartphones that serve almost all price categories, Samsung also has a great lineup of wearable tech. Samsung Galaxy Watches are considered some of the flagship smartwatches that you can own.

Released back in September 2019, Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 bags a new update that adds a couple of features and enhancements to the smartwatch. This piece of information was reported by TizenHelp.

One of the features that this new Galaxy Watch Active 2 update is bringing is now, you can challenge or compete with your friend and also get feedback on the Samsung Health app.

Moreover, the new update improves the automatic workout detection feature. Notably, it is now faster than before. It is helpful in three sports, namely running, rowing machine and elliptical.

Previously, users of Galaxy Watch Active 2 were not happy with slow workout detection, especially running and walking. But this new update fixes the issue.

Home training & other fitness programs for Galaxy Watch Active 2 is also available

Talking about other features, this new Galaxy Watch Active 2 update also brings home training and other fitness programs. Since all the new watches are featuring coaching programs, it is a nice addition.

The changelog of the update also mentions that now users will get additional sleep scores along with meaningful information. This will help them keep a track of their sleep and improve if required.

The update enhances the SmartThings Find function. With the help of this function, users will be able to search for their lost smartwatch. Also, they can make use of the map location to trace the last location of their misplaced or lost smartwatch.

Finally, Hand Wash detection is also improved. Now, this feature will automatically detect if you are washing your hands and start counting.

The new firmware is arriving with build DUA3 for Watch Active 2 and it weighs around 84.93MB. It is currently live for users in South Korea. It will be hitting the smartwatches via OTA in batches.

You can manually check for the update by heading to the Galaxy Wearable app and tap on the Watch software update. If a new update is available, then tap on Download and Install button.

As far as other regions are concerned, we expect Samsung to push this new update soon for Galaxy Watch Active 2 users across the globe.
