Today January 11 2021, the V-Moda M-200 ANC headphones were released. V-Moda has announced the M-200 ANC at CES. V-Moda is known for their very unique designs which makes them among the best-looking headphones around.
V-Moda also recently revealed their new visual identity prefacing the launch of the new headphones. The V-Moda M-200 ANC is an upgrade to the older M-200 that came out last year. With that upgrade the new headphones are wireless and they support “hybrid active noise cancellation” as V-Moda calls it.
The ANC in these new headphones can be adjusted with the help of the companion app that also has an EQ tool. With the EQ tool, users can customize the sound output to suit their listening experience. The upgraded headphones also have a Voice-In feature that lowers the volume and disables ANC when a user covers either earcup.
This is similar to other brands, like Sony, and how they allow some sound through when a user wants. The upgrades for the new M-200 ANC sound amazing. However, there is a slight downside. The regular M-200 came with 50mm drivers. Whereas the ANC model has 40mm, drivers.
Despite that one downside, everything else seems positive. For one thing, the V-Moda says they will last up to 20 hours before needing a recharge. The USB Type-C handles the charging when the battery gives up the ghost. According to V-Moda, a 10-minute charge will provide 1.5 hours of playback.
New V-Moda M-200 ANC have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Thank you.
For those of you who love and miss physically tethering your headphones to your device, there is good news. There is a 3.5mm cable for wired listening. This should make true audiophiles happy. Google Assistant support is along for the ride as well. The dedicated button will summon the assistant when a user needs it.
There is also support for Qualcomm aptX HD and AAC codecs thanks to Bluetooth 5.0. And for anyone with multiple devices, there is a multi-device pairing. As a result, you’ll be able to stay paired to multiple devices simultaneously.
Now the new V-Moda M-200 ANC costs $499. Not cheap by a longshot. But they are cheaper than Apple’s latest offering and offer many things the AirPods Max do not. The dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack is a must for a great set of headphones.
You can also customize these headphones just like you could with V-Moda’s other headphones thanks to retaining the company’s signature design. Consequently, users will be able to swap out the shields to customize their new headphones. Now if you have the extra cash to splurge and you want these you can swing by V-Moda’s website to purchase them.
