ZTE Opens The Global Open Sale Of The Axon 20 5G

ZTE has made the Axon 20 5G, the world’s first phone with an under-display camera, available for open sale globally. Announced back in September 2020, the revolutionary smartphone was initially available for purchase in the company’s home country China only.

The company announced an invite-only global sale of the handset last month. Interested buyers had to obtain an invitation code via ZTE’s New Vision Club or through its official social media channels. It appears the Axon 20 5G has garnered enough interest from consumers for the company to launch an open sale.

The handset is now available for purchase freely in all 27 EU member states as well as the UK, South Korea, Ukraine, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Kuwait, Israel, and South Africa. The ZTE Axon 20 5G is not available in the United States and Canada though.

ZTE is selling the Axon 20 5G in an 8GB+128GB memory configuration, priced at €449/£419/$449 depending on the region. The handset comes in Sunrise Yellow and Midnight Black color options. You can purchase the phone through ZTE’s website and it ships in two days.

The ZTE Axon 20 5G is a huge phone, featuring a 6.92-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It’s an all-screen front without any notch or punch hole. The 32-megapixel front-facing camera hides under the display. The phone also gets an under-display optical fingerprint sensor. Powered by the Snapdragon 765G SoC, the device supports sub-6GHz 5G networks.

You’ll find a 64-megapixel quad-camera setup on the back along with a dual-LED dual-tone flash. The main camera is flanked by an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The 4,220mAh Li-ion battery supports 30W fast wired charging via USB Type-C 3.1. The ZTE Axon 20 5G has a plastic frame with a dimension of 172.1 x 77.9 x 8 mm. The handset weighs 198 grams. Android 10, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and NFC are also part of the package. There’s no headphone jack on this phone.

ZTE also announces the ZTE LiveBuds

Along with the Axon 20 5G, ZTE has also announced an open sale of its LiveBuds TWS earbuds. The buds pack two high definition microphones to enable ENC (electronic noise reduction) to reduce environmental noise. ZTE claims the buds can suppress up to 90 percent of environmental noise.

The ZTE LiveBuds can run for up to four hours on a single charge, while the charging case can supply a total runtime of 20 hours. They feature Bluetooth 5.0, tap controls, and an IPX4 water resistance rating. The buds are extremely lightweight at 4 grams each.

Priced at $39.90/€39.90/£36.9, ZTE is offering free shipping with the LiveBuds if you purchase it alongside a smartphone. The new ZTE TWS earbuds come in a black color variant only.
