Huawei Mate X2 To Launch This Month With In-Folding Design

The Huawei Mate X2 will allegedly launch this month, and it will feature an in-folding design. The thing is, its design will be different than Samsung’s. This information comes from a Chinese tipster ‘Courage Digital King’.

The Huawei Mate X2 is expected to feature in-folding design & “new impressive technology”

He shared the information via Weibo, along with some other tidbits. He did note that the design will be improved in comparison to the Huawei Mate X and Xs. It is also noted that a 5nm chipset will be included, along with “new impressive technology”.

In case you’re wondering what that chip is, the device will be fueled by the Kirin 9000, the company’s latest flagship SoC. Based on some certification information, we can expect an 8.01-inch main display on the device.

A secondary display will be placed on the outside similar to what the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has to offer. The thing is, this phone will allegedly be different than the Galaxy Z Fold 2. We’re not sure how it will differentiate, but we’ll see.

It’s good news that it’s in-folding, though, unlike the Huawei Mate X and Xs. Its main display will remain protected this way, instead of being exposed at all times. This device will arrive without Google services, by the way, Huawei’s HMS will be included.

Its outer display will also be quite large, it seems

Certification information did also reveal that the phone’s outer display will measure 6.45 inches. The device itself will measure 161.8 x 145.8 x 8.2mm, when unfolded. Its main display will also offer a 120Hz refresh rate, allegedly.

A 4,400mAh battery is rumored for the device, as is 66W fast wired charging. We’re not sure if the device will support wireless charging, but chances are it will. The device is expected to be made out of metal and glass.

If this handset is launching by the end of this month, chances are we’ll see much more information in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that.
