Google Pixel 6 Info: SoC Performance, Huge Marketing Budget, Colors & More

A lot more Google Pixel 6 info just leaked, including SoC performance, marketing budget, colors, and so on. This information has been shared by a well-known tipster, Max Weinbach. He talked about the Pixel 6 series during a recent podcast.

Max Weinbach was a part of the Mobile Tech Podcast with tnkgrl Myriam Joire. They touched upon a lot of topics during this podcast, but we’re here to focus on the Pixel 6.

Google’s Whitechapel SoC may be less powerful than you think, but that shouldn’t worry you

Let’s talk about the SoC first. Mr. Weinbach claims that the ‘Whitechapel’ SoC, Google’s first chip that will fuel the Pixel 6, won’t be more powerful than the Snapdragon 888. He says that it will be somewhere between the Snapdragon 865 and 888.

Some of you may find that disappointing, but you have to keep in mind that both of those chips are immensely powerful. Google having full control over that chip could prove beneficial in a number of ways. Performance, battery life, and camera benefits do come to mind. We’ll see.

The two phones could launch in October with 120Hz displays

The tipster also said that the Pixel 6 will likely launch in October, alongside the Pixel Watch. He did note that the launch could be moved if chip shortage proves to be a problem for Google.

The Google Pixel 6 Pro will feature a QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, it seems. Mr. Weinbach also mentioned a 5,000mAh battery that will fuel the device.

Now, in regards to the smaller variant. It will feature a fullHD+ 120Hz display, both will be AMOLED panels, of course. He didn’t seem all too sure about the battery, but he did suggest a 4,500mAh unit is coming.

The green variant is also coming

In addition to the color option we’ve seen in recent leaks, a Green Pixel 6 will also be available. We don’t know what colors will Google combine with the green one, though.

The new camera design on the two phones is there to leave Google more room for new tech. For the most part, it’s there because of the new sensors, almost certainly, as Google will utilize new camera sensors this time around.

Surprisingly, the Google Pixel 6 phones will have a huge marketing budget

The last tidbit that Mr. Weinbach shared, and arguably the most interesting one, is that the Pixel 6 series will have a huge marketing budget. He said that Google will invest a ton of cash, and that the Pixel 6 will have a marketing budget to the level of Samsung’s Galaxy S series. That sounds extremely promising, it seems like Google wants to boost Pixel smartphone sales.
