The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE may offer 45W charging support after all. The device appeared at the FCC (SM-G990U), and thus got certified. In that listing, it’s mentioned that the device supports two chargers, EP-TA800 and EP-TA845.
The Galaxy S21 FE may support 45W charging, but won’t include a charger
The first charger is a 25W, while the second one is a 45W one (Type-C PD charger). That second charger is actually the one compatible with the Galaxy Note 10 series, in case you were wondering.
That being said, don’t hold your breath for the inclusion of either of those chargers. Based on the available information, the Galaxy S21 FE will ship without a charging brick, like its Galaxy S21 siblings do. So, you’ll have to buy one separately, if you don’t already own it.
The inclusion of 45W fast charging is great news, though. We were expecting the phone to be capped at 25W charging speeds, but that won’t be the case.
The phone will also offer wireless charging support
It is worth noting that the Galaxy S21 FE is also expected to offer wireless charging support. Information regarding that wasn’t mentioned, but its predecessor offered 15W wireless charging support. It’s quite likely the S21 FE will also cap out at 15W, when it comes to wireless charging.
The Galaxy S21 FE has surfaced a lot of times thus far. The phone was first expected to arrive alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3, and Watch 4 series, but that won’t happen.
Those two flagships, and the company’s smartwatches, are tipped to arrive on August 11. The Galaxy S21 FE has been postponed due to the chip shortage, allegedly. The phone is rumored to launch in October.
The device will include the Snapdragon 888 SoC, along with 6GB / 8GB of RAM. A 6.5-inch fullHD+ Super AMOLED display is also rumored. That will be a flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Samsung’s Galaxy S21 FE handset is expected to include three cameras on the back, and a 4,500mAh battery. Stereo speakers will be included, and the phone will likely be made out of metal and plastic. You can read more about the device in our preview.
