The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic names have been confirmed. The two devices have both been certified by the NBTC. These two listings now only confirm model numbers for the two devices, but their names as well.
The Galaxy Watch 4 series names have been confirmed thanks to a certification filing
The Galaxy Watch 4 has been certified as the Samsung SM-R875F. The Watch 4 Classic, on the other hand, has popped up as the Samsung SM-R885F. Both of these are LTE variants, by the way.
We’re not sure if both devices will include LTE support as default, or can we expect variants that don’t include it at all. Chances are the latter will be the case, as the SM-R890 and SM-R880 already got certified in Russia.
Such model numbers usually refer to default variants, so those could be WiFi models, without LTE support. It would sure make more sense for Samsung to offer both options.
According to a recent report, the Galaxy Watch 4 will come in both 40 and 44mm sizes. It will offer MIL-STD-810G certification, and the Gorilla Glass DX+ protection (of the display).
Both watches will be 5ATM certified
The watch will be water and dust resistant with 5ATM certification, and will arrive in black, dark green, rose gold, and silver color variants. The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, on the other hand, could arrive in 42 and 46mm sizes.
Both of these smartwatches are expected to arrive in August. They will launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. That is expected to happen on either August 3, or August 11, depending on which rumor you end up believing.
In fact, it’s possible that they will get announced on August 3, and then go on sale on August 11, it remains to be seen. Both watches will run ‘One UI Watch’, a new Wear OS-based OS co-developed by Samsung and Google. So, Samsung is pushing Tizen OS aside.
