Check Out Real-Life Images Of The Galaxy S21 Olympic Games Edition

Samsungannounced the Galaxy S21 Olympic Games Edition smartphone last month. This is a special edition handset made for the upcoming Olympic games in Japan. We’ve seen renders of the device, not real-life images of the Galaxy S21 Olympic Games Edition… until now.

Real-life images of the Galaxy S21 Olympic Games Edition surfaced

The device surfaced in China, giving us a closer look at it. This special edition handset is basically the same to the regular Galaxy S21, but it comes in a different color, and Olympic games branding on the back.

Samsung is calling this color the ‘Phantom Blue’, while the regular model is available in a ‘Phantom Purple’ color. Truth be said, those colors are kind of similar, but not the same.

Do note that this smartphone got released because the Galaxy S20 Olympic Edition got cancelled. Olympic games were supposed to take place last year, but the pandemic forced some changes.

The Galaxy S21 Olympic Games Edition will be released exclusively by NTT DoCoMo in Japan. That is the same deal that Samsung had with the Japanese carrier last year, for the Galaxy S20 variant.

The phone does come with some software goodies, but not as much as its predecessor

Other than some color changes, this variant of the phone has a somewhat different UI as well. It has some special wallpapers, but there are not limited-edition soundscapes. That was not the case with the Galaxy S20 Olympic Games Edition, so that’s quite odd. We’re not sure if there’s any additional content added, though.

The specs are the same as they are on the regular Galaxy S21. The phone features a 6.2-inch fullHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The Snapdragon 888 fuels the phone, while a 5,000mAh battery is also included in the package. The phone does support 25W fast wired charging, and 15W wireless charging.

Olympic Games are expected to start on July 23 this year, and they’ll run until August 8. As already mentioned, the whole event is taking place in Japan.
