Samsung may announce One UI 4 as soon as next week. This information comes from Ice Universe, a well-known tipster. He shared some interesting info via his Weibo account, by saying that One UI 4 “will start to explode next week”.
He did not exactly say “announce”, but the way he put it, it surely does hint at an announcement of some sort. Unless, of course, he meant that tons of leaks will start popping up next week, we’ll see.
Samsung may announce One UI 4 soon, at least to some capacity
Samsung’s One UI 4 will be based on Android 12, though, in case you were wondering. This is the update that Samsung will aim to push to a ton of its phones following the Android 12 launch.
Now, Samsung may kick off the developer beta program for One UI 4, but it seems a bit early for that. The same happened for Android 11-based One UI in September last year.
In any case, One Ui 4 will not debut with Samsung’s upcoming smartphones. Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 on August 11. It may even announce the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Lite.
None of those phones will launch with Android 12 and One UI 4, of course. Google still did not release a stable version of Android 12, so… yeah, Samsung won’t either.
Those phones will likely ship with One UI 3.1.1, even though they were rumored to arrive with One UI 3.5. Nothing is set in stone just yet, but we’ll get more information soon.
Android 12 with One UI 4 will reach the Galaxy S21 series in Q4 2021
Samsung is, however, expected to push the Android 12 update with One UI 4 to some of its devices before the end of the year. The Galaxy S21 series, in particular, is expected to get it in November or December.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 will also be at the very top of the update list, and the same goes for the Galaxy S21 FE. A full One UI 4 launch may occur during Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) in Q4.
