ZTE Axon 30 5G Will Offer A 120Hz Display, New Under-Display Camera

The Chinese technology company, ZTE, will soon launch a new device called ZTE Axon 30 5G. Notably, some interesting details have been confirmed regarding the same.

FYI, ZTE was the first smartphone brand to mass-produce and ship a smartphone, i.e. the ZTE Axon 20 5G, with an under-display camera.

As you would expect from a first-gen product, the ZTE Axon 20 5G was not well received by the tech community, especially, the under-display camera.

For starters, the low-resolution area of the display, where the front camera sits on ZTE Axon 20 5G, was visible when you look closely by tilting the phone in the appropriate direction. Eve worse than that, you can apply a solid color red, blue, or green wallpaper to view the area.

Moreover, the camera itself wasn’t good. Thanks to the layer of the display above the sensor of the camera, the images taken from the selfie camera on ZTE Axon 20 5G came out dreamy, or better to say blurry.

The good news is ZTE itself has confirmed (via GSMArena) that the upcoming ZTE Axon 30 5G, will come with a 120HZ display and an upgraded second-generation under-display camera.

ZTE also found a way to double the pixel-density to 400 PPI in the area around the under-display camera

Last week, the company confirmed that it has found a way to double the pixel density around the under-display camera. ZTE has managed to bump the PPI to 400. So, you can expect the under-display area to be practically unnoticeable.

Apparently, the under-display camera area in Axon 20 5G was around 200 PPI. This prevented it from blending in with the display. Thankfully, ZTE has got a solution for that.

The screen, as already mentioned, is also getting an upgrade. The Axon 20 5G spotted a 90Hz 1080p display, but the upcoming Axon 30 5G will come with a 120Hz display.

The rumor mill suggests the ZTE Axon 30 5G will come with a fullHD+ display. ZTE hasn’t confirmed this piece of information, so, take it with a pinch of salt.

Besides, ZTE has shared no information regarding the launch date of the phone. Yet again, the rumor mill is buzzing that the launch will happen on July 22.

This means, next week Thursday it is. We expect to get a few teasers or new leaks about the device until the unveiling. Other details such as battery capacity, rear camera information, chipset are still under wraps, which are also expected to surface on the internet before the official launch.
