OnePlus has announced its new high-end smartphone, the OnePlus 9RT. The phone is exactly what we expected, as pretty much everything leaked out in the last couple of weeks.
The device got announced in the company’s homeland, and it comes in several color options. This handset is basically a replacement for the company’s T series handset which usually launches around this time. So, it’s a successor to the OnePlus 8T, kind of.
The OnePlus 9RT comes with a space cooling system
The phone comes with a space cooling system to keep the temperature low while gaming. It also includes a GPA frame stabilization technology to intelligently allocate resources needed for scheduling games to achieve stable frame rates. At the same time, it keeps track of power consumption, and heat generation.
OnePlus included really thin bezels on this device, though they’re not uniform. The bottom bezel is a bit thicker than the rest, which is what we’re used to seeing on Android phones, even flagship ones.
This phone includes a flat display, with a display camera hole in the top-left corner. There are three cameras on the back of this phone, and the device utilizes an in-display fingerprint scanner. When it comes to the design, it does resemble the OnePlus 9 series.
A 120Hz display is included, along with the Snapdragon 888 SoC
The OnePlus 9RT features a 6.62-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) Fluid AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That display does support HDR10+ content, and it can achieve 1,300 nits of peak brightness. It is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass, but we don’t know what variant.
The Snapdragon 888 fuels the device, while the phone comes with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The 8GB RAM variant includes either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. The 12GB RAM model comes in a 256GB storage flavor only.
Android 12 comes pre-installed on this phone, along with ColorOS12 in China. There are two nano SIM card slots available on this device. Stereo speakers are also included, along with Dolby Atmos audio support.
OnePlus utilized 65W wired charging
A 4,500mAh battery is also a part of the package, and it supports 65W fast wired charging aka Warp Charge. Wireless charging is not supported. The phone is equipped with Bluetooth 5.2, and does support 5G connectivity.
A 50-megapixel main camera (Sony’s IMX766 sensor, 1um pixel size, f/1.88 aperture, OIS) is backed by a 16-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.25 aperture, IES, 123-degree FoV). A 2-megapixel macro camera (4cm, f/2.4 aperture) also sits on the back of the device. A 16-megapixel camera (f/2.4 aperture, Sony’s IMX471 sensor, EIS) can be found on the front.
The phone comes in Silver and Black colors, and its pricing starts at CNY3,299 ($512) in China. The most expensive model is priced at CNY3,799 ($589). The phone will go on sale on October 19.
