Catching This Pokémon Nintendo Switch OLED Would Make Ash Proud

Nintendo today has announced a brand-new Switch OLED console hitting the market with a Pokémon Scarlet & Violet design. Picking up this model won’t make you a better Pokémon trainer, but it will certainly be a nice piece of hardware to add to your gaming collection. Launching officially this Fall, the Nintendo Switch OLED Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Edition comes with a white dock emblazoned with two legendary Pokémon – Koraidon and Miraidon. Each Pokémon matches the colors of their likeness on their respective versions of the game.

Then on the back of the dock there’s a small depiction of the Pokéball in the left corner. To further add to the allure, each Joy-Con comes in a color that matches the colors of one of the two legendary Pokémon. One scarlet, and one violet. And to top things off, you’ll find Naranja Academy and Uva Academy school emblems on the front of the Joy-Con, while designs of the Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly Pokémon can be found on the backs of the Joy-Con and the Switch OLED system itself.

There’s nothing different about this particular Switch OLED compared to the original model. But then again that’s never the case with these limited-edition design consoles. Instead, they’re all about catching the eye of fans. And many Pokémon fans are likely to love this edition.

The Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Edition Nintendo Switch OLED launches in November

Nintendo is timing the release of this console with the upcoming new Pokémon games, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Although it will launch a little earlier than those releases. Those interested in the new console edition will be able to pick it up on November 4 at a price of $359.99. So it will be $10 more than the standard white or red & blue versions.

Nintendo also says it’ll be available in stores and through the My Nintendo Store. Which probably means it’ll be available from various retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop etc. in addition to Nintendo directly. Then, a couple of weeks later Nintendo will launch Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet on November 18 for $59.99 each.

Limited-edition consoles like this one tend to fly off the shelves quickly. So if you want one you may want to be prepared to purchase it as soon as it becomes available.
