HONOR coming to MWC 2023; Magic Vs & new flagships expected

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona will kick off on February 27. HONOR is one of the companies that will participate, according to the GSM Association’s website. HONOR is expected to announce a global variant of the Magic Vs at MWC 2023, but that’s not all, its flagships are likely coming too.

HONOR is expected to launch its new flagships at MWC 2023, and global Magic Vs too

In addition to its new foldable, which we had a chance to briefly use, HONOR is also expected to announce its new flagship lineup. The rumored Magic5 smartphones are expected. The HONOR Magic5, Magic5 Pro, and Magic5 Ultimate could launch.

HONOR still didn’t confirm any MWC 2023 dates or anything of the sort, so we’re waiting for that to happen. At least two out of three devices that we’ve mentioned in the previous paragraph are expected to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Now, some additional info about these devices did leak a while back. The ‘Pro’ and ‘Ultimate’ models are expected to include a quad 50-megapixel camera setup. Some devices from the series could utilize a 64-megapixel sensor, though.

Two devices from the Magic5 series could offer 100x camera zoom

Both ‘Pro’ and ‘Ultimate’ handsets are also expected to feature a periscope camera with 100x zoom. You can also expect 120Hz displays to be included on these phones, along with PWM dimming.

All devices will probably feature IP68 certification for water and dust resistance too. Android 13 will come pre-installed on them, with HONOR’s custom UI, of course.

The HONOR Magic5 series will have a heavy focus on cameras, so we do have high expectations in that regard. It is interesting that those phones didn’t yet launch in China either, unlike the Magic Vs. They usually launch in China first, so… that’s a bit weird.

In any case, HONOR will likely announce its MWC 2023 participation soon, so we’ll probably get more information via teasers, if nothing else.
