Check out these low-light camera samples from Galaxy S23 Ultra

Earlier today, we saw the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in a short unboxing video, giving us our first real-life look at the unannounced phone. The same source also shared some camera samples from the device. They posted three low-light photos captured from the Galaxy S23 Ultra on Twitter. Each scene was captured twice, first with Night mode disabled and then with Night mode enabled. The photos give us a fair idea of what to expect from the new Samsung flagship’s 200MP camera.

Since these photos (see the attached gallery below) were uploaded to a social media platform, they have likely been compressed, affecting the quality. But, you can still see that the Galaxy S23 Ultra can capture adequately bright photos even when there’s little to no light. Previous rumors have suggested the phone to be one of the best for low-light mobile photography this year. These early camera samples certainly support those claims, though we will have to test the handset ourselves before we can give a final verdict.

Thankfully, that wait won’t be long. Samsung is all set to unveil the Galaxy S23 series next week, on February 1. The Ultra model will top the line, which also includes the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+. The latter two models won’t have a 200MP camera and instead settle for a 50MP solution. So don’t expect the same level of photography performance from them. The day-to-day performance should be comparable, though. The entire Galaxy S23 lineup will feature an overclocked version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra may also get improved zoom photography

Low-light photography may not be the only area where the Galaxy S23 Ultra will bring big improvements. Rumors say that the phone will capture better zoom photos as well. The device features the same 10MP cameras for 3X and 10X optical zoom.

However, Samsung seems to have worked on its processing and camera software for quality improvements. We are also hearing that the device will capture 4K 30fps portrait videos and 8K 30fps videos. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is limited to 1080p 30fps and 8K 24fps, respectively.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra will pack the same 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The screen may also remain unchanged, with rumors suggesting the same 1,750 nits of peak brightness. But Samsung may slap a tougher Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on top. With the launch drawing close, we expect leaks to come more frequently in the coming days. We will keep you posted accordingly.
