The Galaxy S23 Ultra is the first-ever Galaxy with a 200MP camera

For years now Samsung has been making its Galaxy flagships a top contender for smartphone photography, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra continues this trend with its 200MP main camera. Now, this alone won’t make the Galaxy S23 Ultra a stellar device for taking pictures, but it certainly will help.

The key point here is that the Galaxy S23 Ultra having a 200MP main camera is a first for any Galaxy device. Furthermore, there aren’t that many smartphones in general that have a 200MP main camera sensor. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is one of only a handful. Which puts it in a unique spot. Mostly because out of the phones that do offer the same thing, Samsung’s offering is the only one that’s recognizable globally.

But, that’s kind of beside the point. What’s important is that the Galaxy S23 Ultra promises to deliver an exceptional experience for smartphone photography. And it begins with the main camera sensor. But that’s not the only thing to look forward to.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra camera system is Galaxy’s “most advanced”

“Tailored for nearly any lighting conditions and engineered to render incredible detail.” That’s how Samsung describes the picture experience with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. There are more than a few things that contribute to this. Starting with the 200MP camera on the back that uses an adaptive pixel sensor. This uses ‘pixel binning’ to support more than one a single level of high-resolution processing at the same time.

The camera also uses a new and improved image signal processing algorithm powered by AI to “enhance object details and color tone.” There’s a handful of other advancements Samsung had made to the camera this year too. Such as being able to keep images more stable using double the optical image stabilizer angles than before. As well as the ability to record enhanced 8K video at 30 frames per second with a wider angle.

Overall, this is the model you want to go with if you want the best camera experience.
