How much is the Samsung Galaxy S23?

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is now official. Leading up to the event today in San Francisco, there was a lot of talk about the price going up this year. So what is the actual price of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series? Well here’s how it is laid out:

  • Galaxy S23: starting at $799
  • Galaxy S23+: starting at $999
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra: starting at $1,199

These are the same prices as the Galaxy S22 series, at least in the US. So it’s good to see that there wasn’t a price increase this year. Though it is quite surprising that there isn’t, considering the fact that inflation is running rampant, and these components cost more than ever. But that’s an advantage that Samsung has, since it manufacturers most of the components on its smartphones. So it’s able to eat those costs, and sell these phones for less.

More for the same price

While the phones don’t look all that different this year, Samsung has upgraded the internals and also added larger batteries. The Galaxy S23 and S23+ both have 200mAh larger batteries inside. While the Galaxy S23 Ultra stuck with its 5,000mAh capacity battery.

There’s also a slight redesign here with the Galaxy S23 series. The camera module has been redesigned so that it looks more like it is floating, instead of being a huge camera bump on the back. Making it look like one of the best camera bumps in the business right now.

Samsung also claims that the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the most powerful smartphone ever made. Which is likely true, at least for now. Especially with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy inside. And it’s priced the same as the iPhone 14 Pro Max with 256GB of storage, which is quite impressive, for everything Samsung has thrown in here.

So prices are the same, and of course, the carriers are going to be offering some insane deals. So you likely won’t pay anything near these prices.
