The Galaxy S23 series supports Super Fast Charging

Samsung’s latest devices, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galax S23 Ultra all support Super Fast Charging. All three models of the phone also come with fairly large batteries, with Samsung claiming they last longer on average compared to their Galaxy S22 counterparts.

If you’re unfamiliar with Samsung’s Super Fast Charging, that means the Galaxy S23 can charge at up to a speed of 25 watts. Which is likely to allow for a full charge from a dead battery in little more than an hour. Obviously, this is something that would need to be tested. But you can rest assured the battery on the Galaxy S23 should charge up fast. And if you’re using a Galaxy S23 Plus or Galaxy S23 Ultra, then the battery can charge even faster.

The only real change here is support for charging at 45w of power instead of 25w. This will no doubt result in slightly faster charging, but probably not to any meaningful degree for the average user. Also worth considering is that both the Plus and Ultra models come with even larger batteries than the standard model.

So while they will support faster charging times, they have more battery to charge up. In the end the time difference probably won’t be that much. Though again, this is something that would need to be tested to be sure. Having said that, the Galaxy S23 is not the first phone in Samsung’s collection to offer 45w charging. So users can probably expect the experience to be very similar to the Galaxy S22 series.

Another important thing to keep in mind is that these are just the speeds for wired charging. Wireless charging will not be as fast. But then again that’s nothing new. Case in point, if you want the fastest charging speeds available to you, plug in your Galaxy S23 instead of placing it on a wireless charger.
