So, what happened? Well, Marques Brownlee shared a video on Twitter, in which he used the Galaxy S23 Ultra to take a photo of the moon, handheld. He utilized the phone’s 100x zoom (aka ‘Space Zoom’) for this.
Elon Musk appeared in the comments and simply said “Wow”. Needless to say, a lot of people noticed it. It’s not difficult to be impressed by this, that’s for sure. Samsung improved its periscope camera capabilities even further, and even the image on the viewfinder looks good, prior to processing.
MKBHD’s tweet managed to attract over 300,000 likes and over 26,000 retweets at the time of writing this article. Samsung even responded to Elon Musk via its US account, by saying “I know, right?!”

The phone improves upon the camera performance of the Galaxy S22 Ultra in a big way. On top of that, it now comes with a proper vapor chamber, an outstanding SoC in all markets, and a more polished version of One UI.
Not many people expected such major improvements this time around, but there you have it. As a side note, the main camera on this handset is a 200-megapixel ISOCELL sensor. Samsung did a great job of optimizing it for this device, that’s for sure.
