OnePlus has a major hardware launch event coming up this week. The event on Tuesday, February 7, will see the company unveil the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R flagship smartphones, OnePlus Buds Pro 2 TWS earbuds, and a new TV. We already know a lot about these devices thanks to official announcements in China as well as leaks and rumors. The upcoming pair of TWS earbuds has now appeared on the FCC website on its way to global launch.
Spotted by 91Mobiles, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 has picked up the FCC certification with the model number E507A. The listing reveals that each earbud will pack a 60mAh battery (0.231Wh/3.85V). The charging case will have a rated battery capacity of 520mAh (1.976WH/3.80V). That’s a pretty huge battery in the case and should be enough to give the buds 7-8 additional charging cycles, if not more. This is one of the best battery life you get on the current crop of TWS earbuds.
Coming to charging, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2’s case seems to charge at 10W speed via a USB Type-C port. It should also support wireless charging via any Qi charger. The buds appear to charge at 2.5W speed when in the case (via). Long story short, battery life and charging shouldn’t be a problem with the upcoming OnePlus earphones, and neither should the temperature range at which it works fine: 0 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees Fahrenheit). Don’t let the buds freeze, though.
OnePlus Buds Pro 2 appears on FCC ahead of its global launch
The FCC listing doesn’t reveal anything else about the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. But the earbuds have already launched in China, so we know a few more things. The new pair looks identical to its predecessor with a dual-tone color scheme. The charging case gets a matte finish, with Dynaudio branding. The Danish company helped Oneplus with the audio side of things on the new earbuds. The buds use the same 11mm dynamic drivers and 6mm tweeters found in the previous-gen model.
There are three microphones on each earbud, with OnePlus claiming improved ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and audio quality. The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 boasts Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and supports most audio codecs. It offers low latency for gaming use, with some gaming-oriented features. Rumors are that OnePlus will price its latest TWS offering at around €180 in Europe. With the launch scheduled for tomorrow, we will soon find out if that’s true.
