Verizon is giving smartphone buyers an open window to sign up for its Mobile Protect insurance program. All Verizon customers can enroll in the program between February 13 through April 13, 2023, no matter when they purchased the device. The company has also announced unlimited free screen repairs under Mobile Protect.
Usually, when you buy a new smartphone from Verizon, you get a 30-day window to enroll in its insurance program. Priced at $14 a month or $17 a month depending on the device, the program offers coverage against loss, theft, damage, discounted screen repairs, and post-warranty malfunctions, with same-day delivery of replacement devices. If you have multiple Verizon lines in your household, you can sign up for multi-device plans at a discounted price.
While 30 days is a fairly long window, people still miss the deadline. Some just pass on buying insurance, while others forget about it. Verizon is now giving those customers a second chance to sign up for Mobile Protect. During the aforementioned two-month window, users can protect their phones under the company’s insurance program regardless of when they purchase them. Simply go to the official website and enroll in the program. You can also register via the MyVerizon app, or visit a nearby Verizon store.
Verizon will soon offer unlimited free screen repairs with Mobile Protect
An open window isn’t the only good news for Verizon customers looking to sign up for Mobile Protect. The company has also announced an awesome new perk for the insurance program. Starting April 27, 2023, Verizon will not charge any deductible for screen repairs. If you’re subscribed to Mobile Protect, you can get unlimited screen repairs for free. It previously charged a flat $29 deductible for repairing damaged screens even if you have bought the insurance.
Moreover, Verizon is also lowering its damage replacement deductible from $249 to just $99. If your phone has suffered unrepairable damage, you can get a replacement device by paying $99 to Verizon. Of course, that’s only if you have a Mobile Protect subscription. Verizon is also making some changes to the pricing structure of its multi-device plan starting April 27, 2023. It will offer multiple tiers of multi-device plans (two lines, three lines, and 4-20 lines). You can read all the fine print here.
Note that New York residents will still need to pay a $29 deductible for screen repairs, while the damage replacement deductible for them is $229 (via). You can refer to this brochure to learn more about Verizon’s Mobile Protect insurance program in the state.
