It’s now official, the Xiaomi 13 series will launch globally on February 26. Xiaomi has reached out to confirm the news, while it will also confirm it via its official social media channels (if it hasn’t already).
Global Xiaomi 13 series variants will become official on February 26
Considering that the Xiaomi 13 series already launched in China, we basically know what to expect. Xiaomi did say that the launch event will include some “exciting AIoT products” as well, though.
The press event will kick off at 4 PM CET / 3 PM BST / 10 AM EST / 7 AM PST. The company will livestream this launch event, as a livestream will be available via mi.com, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. We still don’t have a link for that, but it will pop up as we get closer to launch. We’ll let you know.
Xiaomi is using the “Behind the masterpiece” tagline for this launch event. Considering this is the Xiaomi 13 series, Leica will very much be a part of the equation too, as the company’s official teaser for this event confirms.
Now, in regards to the phones themselves. The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will likely launch globally, as they did in China. The vanilla Xiaomi 13 will feature flat edges, a flat display, and it’ll be noticeably smaller and lighter. The ‘Pro’ model will have a curved display, plenty of curves all around, and a more powerful camera setup.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro will include a 1-inch camera sensor
The Xiaomi 13 Pro is the only one that will include a 1-inch camera sensor, out of these two phones, of course. A 50.3-megapixel main camera (Sony’s IMX989 sensor) will be included, along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide, and 50-megapixel telephoto cameras.
The Xiaomi 13 will include an entirely different camera setup. A 50-megapixel main camera (different sensor) will be backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto unit. Leica lenses will be included on both phones.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will fuel both devices, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro will include faster charging (120W vs 67W wired). Both phones will include 50W wireless charging, though, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
