Samsung‘s 2023 premium mid-range smartphones are almost here. The company will launch the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G this Thursday, March 16. But before it could officially present the duo to the public, a YouTuber has already shared an unboxing video showing the phones in all their glory.
Someone unboxed the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G before Samsung
Vietnamese YouTube channel TD Review published the first unboxing video of the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G. The video shows the former in a shiny yellow-green color, which Samsung will probably call Awesome Lime. The latter can be seen in a silvery hue.
The two handsets look identical from the back. This is something the Korean firm has done thoughtfully. All of its Galaxy smartphones launched so far in 2023 feature the same rear design where the camera sensors protrude out of the back panel individually. The company has done away with camera bumps.
The story is unchanged with the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G. Like the Galaxy S23, these phones have three cameras aligned vertically on the back, with an LED flash unit sitting next to them. The mid-range devices have a flat back but the edges appear slightly curved.
On the front, the former has a punch-hole camera design while the latter has a notched display (U-shaped notch at the center). That’s pretty much the only visual difference between the two models, at least in this video. Leaks so far have suggested the same too.
Speaking of leaks, we were previously told that the Galaxy A34 5G will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. But this video showed it doesn’t. The Galaxy A54 5G likely won’t have it either. We could also see that the latter phone ships with 8GB of RAM on the base storage variant (128GB).
The former will only get 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. You’ll have to pick the 256GB model for 8GB of RAM. The two devices also vary in terms of the processor. The Galaxy A54 5G has a more powerful Exynos 1380 under the hood. The Galaxy A34 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080.
These phones boast OIS and 4K video recording
Despite an identical camera array, these two phones pack different sensors. The Galaxy A54 5G ships with a 50MP main camera, along with a 12MP ultrawide lens, 5MP macro camera, and 32MP selfie shooter.
The Galaxy A34 5G, on the other hand, gets a 48MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide lens, 5MP macro camera, and 13MP selfie shooter. Both devices boast OIS and 4K video recording. An IP67 rating, under-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging are also part of the package. Stay tuned for the launch later this week.
