Samsung‘s upcoming mid-range smartphone Galaxy A24 has appeared on Google Play Console ahead of its rumored launch later this month. The listing confirms some of the phone’s rumored specs. The Korean firm hasn’t yet announced a launch date for the device.
The Galaxy A24 is listed with the model number SM-A245F on the Google Play Console. Based on Samsung’s model number scheme, this is the global version of a 4G device. The listing reveals that the phone is powered by a MediaTek chipset identified by the part number MT6789V. The chipset has two ARM Cortex-A76 CPU cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. It integrates a dual-core ARM Mali G57 GPU. Based on this data, we can confirm it’s the Helio G99 processor.
The handset features a 1080×2324 display (Full HD+ resolution) with 450 DPI screen density. We should be looking at a 6.5-inch panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits of peak brightness. There are contradicting reports over whether it’s a Super AMOLED panel or an LCD screen, though. For photos and videos, we are expecting a 50MP primary shooter with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), 5MP ultrawide lens, 2MP macro camera, and a 13MP selfie camera.
Spotted by Pricebaba, the Google Play Console listing shows the Galaxy A24 with 4GB of RAM. Earlier leaks and rumors say the device will be available with 128GB of storage capacity, expandable by a further 1TB via a MicroSD card. Other rumored specs include a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5 mm headphone jack with Dolby Atmos support, and Android 13.
Samsung may not keep the Galaxy A24 under wraps for much longer
The Galaxy A24 will arrive as the fifth model in Samsung’s 2023 Galaxy A lineup. The company launched the Galaxy A14 5G in January and followed it up with the Galaxy A14 in February. Last month, it launched the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G. It also confirmed the existence of the Galaxy A24 last month but didn’t share further details.
However, leaks have already revealed plenty about the new phone. The Galaxy A24 has also picked up regulatory approvals in several markets over the past few weeks. All of these developments hint at a nearing release. Rumors suggest the phone will break cover in April but we haven’t heard anything from Samsung yet. We will let you know as soon as we have more information.
