Google has added a new mouse pointer in Android 14 Beta 3. Needless to say, this change is aimed at the Pixel Tablet, of course. It will be visible in the stable version of Android 14 in a couple of months, of course.
Google rolled out a new mouse pointer in Android 14 Beta 3
The change has been spotted by Mishaal Rahman, and you can see the difference below. Android 13 has a rather generic mouse pointer, while Google decided to change that in Android 14.
This new icon looks more modern, that’s for sure. Its corners are also visibly more rounded in comparison. The mouse pointer in Android 13 looks like the one on Windows and macOS.
The new mouse pointer will fit a lot better with Google’s Android UI. The company is going for rounded corners this time around, so, there you have it. This is a small change, but a welcomed one.
New keyboard shortcuts are also coming, it seems
You’ll also be able to take advantage of new keyboard shortcuts in Android 14, while support for touch gestures will also be on board. Google will roll out several more tablet-focused features with Android 14.
That is no surprise, as Google announced its Pixel Tablet last month. On top of that, it announced its very first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold. Both of those have large displays, so we’ll need software features in order to take advantage of those displays.
Android 14 Beta 3 started rolling out less than a week ago, and a number of changes have been spotted. Google also delivered a new charging indicator with that update, and a new lock screen customization feature became operational.
That update also delivered a bug that Pixel 6 users noticed, well, some of them. The fingerprint scanner function more or less disappeared for some users.
