Unlike its smartphones, Samsung‘s tablets don’t come in a wide range of colors. Even flagship offerings get only two or three color options at best. In fact, last year’s Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra came in only one color, Graphite. But, things may be changing for good this year. Rumors are that Samsung will offer the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra in a more premium-looking Beige color.
The information comes courtesy of tipster Roland Quandt. He took to Twitter to reveal that Samsung is readying a Beige color variant of the Galaxy Tab S9. He didn’t specify the model, but the “new $1000+ tablet” should be the Ultra. It’s also possible that the entire lineup will get this colorway. Last year, Samsung launched the base Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8+ in Silver and Pink Gold options along with Graphite.
As mentioned above, last year’s Ultra model got only one colorway. Hopefully, Samsung will offer a few different options this year. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra could look refreshing in Beige, somewhat similar to the Starlight color variant of the Apple iPad Air (2022) or the iPhone 14. There haven’t been any flagship Galaxy tablets in this color in recent memory. The Korean firm has launched tablets in Gold and Bronze colors, but not Beige.
The Galaxy Tab S9 series will bring a few notable upgrades
The latest leak about the Galaxy Tab S9 doesn’t reveal anything else. However, earlier leaks have already given us plenty to ponder upon. Like last year, Samsung is readying three models of its latest flagship tablet lineup.
Early renders suggest the devices will look more or less the same as their respective predecessors. But, the company is giving them dust and water resistance this year. All three models will feature an IP67 rating, a first for the lineup.
The new Samsung tablets will be powered by the same chipset found under the hood of the Galaxy S23 series. It’s the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 “for Galaxy”. Elsewhere, we may get OLED screens on all three models this year. The base Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S8 used an LCD screen. An unchanged size means we may not get bigger batteries, but the new chipset should bring more efficiency.
The charging speed remains unchanged, though. Certification listings have shown that the Galaxy Tab S9 series will charge at a maximum speed of 45W, the same as the Galaxy Tab S8. We are expecting Samsung to unveil the new tablets alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldables at its next Galaxy Unpacked event. The event may take place in South Korea in the final week of July.
