The Google Pixel 8 series display specs have just been detailed by Android Authority. The Pixel 8 will feature a noticeably smaller display than the Pixel 7, as expected. That will create a more significant size difference between the regular and Pro models.
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro display specs get detailed
That being said, let’s get to the details, starting with the Pixel 8. The device will include a 6.17-inch flat display (64 x 143mm). Its predecessor, as many of you know, featured a 6.3-inch panel.
That display will offer a fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will offer 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz, and 120Hz refresh rate modes, it’ll be able to jump between those. The Pixel 8 panel will also offer up to 1,400 nits of brightness.
The Pixel 8 Pro, on the flip side, will include a 6.7-inch display (70 x 155mm). The difference between this one and the one inside the Pixel 7 Pro will be the curvature. This panel will be flat, unlike the one on the Pixel 7 Pro.
The Pixel 8 will include a smaller display, while both displays will be flat
The Pixel 8 Pro’s display will also offer a different resolution. It’ll offer a 2992 x 1344 resolution, compared to a 3120 x 1440 resolution on the Pixel 7 Pro. This display will be able to jump between 5Hz, 10Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz, and 120Hz refresh rate modes. It will offer a max brightness of 1,600 nits.
Both of these will be OLED panels, of course, and both phones are said to use Samsung displays. Some Pixel 8 units may come with a BOE panel instead, but we’re still not sure about that.
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will also include an in-display fingerprint scanner, of course. An optical unit is expected to be included here, inside both phones.
These two smartphones are expected to arrive later this year. They’ll most likely launch in October, so we’re still months away from that point. Details regarding both phones will keep surfacing moving forward. While we wait for that, feel free to check out our Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro previews.
