The iPhone SE 4 rumors have been all over the place for a while now. Some of them claimed the device is coming at specific times, others that it has been canceled altogether, and one specific rumor said it’s only used as a test device, and that Apple has no intention of launching it. Well, a new rumor is here, claiming that the iPhone SE 4 will feature an Action Button, a Type-C port, and more.
The iPhone SE 4 could feature an Action Button & Type-C port
This particular rumor comes from Unknownz21, a tipster, and it has been reshared by MacRumors. The tipster says that the iPhone SE 4 design will be based on iPhone 14. That is exactly what we expected, as previous rumors said the same thing. In fact, the design will likely be almost identical to it.
Why do I say ‘almost’ identical? Well, because the iPhone SE 4 is tipped to have both an Action Button, and a Type-C USB port, none of which the iPhone 14 features. The iPhone 15 Pro series is expected to offer both, though, and the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, only the Type-C port. Though it remains to be seen.
The Action Button is expected to replace an alert slider, while the Type-C port will replace a Lightning port. The EU kind of forced Apple’s hand on that, so you can expect to see iPhones with Type-C from now on. Apple could, technically, still release an iPhone with a Lightning port this year, though, as it still has time to spare. Some rumors even claimed that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will have it, but that’s not as likely.
The phone is also expected to include a single camera on the back
In any case, the iPhone SE 4 is also said to utilize a single camera on the back. That is also one way it will differentiate from the iPhone 14, and another reason why the design won’t be identical. That change is kind of unexpected, though.
The phone is also tipped to include a 6.1-inch display, the same size as the iPhone 14’s, and Apple’s in-house 5G modem. Depending on how the development of that modem proceeds, it may or may not include it.
Do note that the iPhone SE 4 is not expected to launch anytime soon, though. The phone will likely arrive in 2025, so there’s still plenty of time for things to change.
