Here's when to expect Sony's new smaller PS5 to launch

The launch date for the new PS5 slim console has seemingly been leaked and it seems to be right around the time Sony has hinted at. Sony’s new smaller PS5 which isn’t officially called the Slim, was announced earlier this month after a few leaks popped up throughout the year and towards the end of last year.

When Sony officially lifted the curtain on this upcoming console refresh, it did so without mentioning an exact launch date. Noting only that it would be arriving in November of 2023. The latest leak about this console however points to a specific date.

According to Billbil-kun from Dealabs Magazine, the console is set to arrive November 10. Which if accurate, is a nifty time to launch since that’s the same day Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III launches. That’s not to suggest this was a planned release date of course. As it could just be a happy coincidence. But it wouldn’t be surprising if Sony did indeed take this date into account. Especially when you consider it also reportedly has a console bundle on the way where you can pick up the larger design with Modern Warfare III included. Speaking of bundles, Sony is apparently planning another one with the smaller model.

The PS5 slim will launch with a Spider-Man 2 bundle

While the larger version of the console will have a Modern Warfare III bundle, the new smaller “slim” model will have a bundle of its own. Both the version with and without a disc drive will come in a bundle that includes a copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The game officially releases on October 20 so the timing seems right. What’s more is that Sony will allegedly launch the bundle earlier than the console by itself. Instead of November 10, the slim bundle will launch on November 8.

It will also retail for $559.99 according to Billbil-kun. Which is line with pricing of other bundles. This launch timing is close enough to Sony’s launch of the original PS5. Which hit store shelves on November 12 of 2020.
