Gunnar has launched two new pairs of gaming glasses today, both of which are themed after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. The launch of these glasses are timed with the release of the game which officially goes live globally on November 10. Though it’ll be live in North America for PC and console players on November 9 at 9pm PST. The campaign has also been available in early access since November 2 for anyone that pre-ordered.
The new glasses from Gunnar Optiks are the COD Alpha Glasses and the COD UAV Glasses. Both of these offer the same set of features and are intended to help reduce eye fatigue and eye strain. These types of issues can occur for people who often sit in front of their computer monitors for several hours a day, multiple days in a row. Not everyone will have these issues of course. But some may find that glasses like these will help prevent some of that fatigue and strain. Naturally these can be useful for people who sit in front of a monitor playing games for long hours. Not just people who work in front of a monitor.
Which is why Gunnar partnered with Activision to make these officially licensed glasses.
Gunnar Modern Warfare III glasses come with a bonus in-game digital item
Whether or not you feel you need these, they might be worth considering if you’ve ever felt like your eyes were strained after a long session of blopping enemy players in the latest Call of Duty title. There is incentive to get these beyond the eye strain prevention though. They come with a free in-game digital item. Specifically a Task Force 141 weapon charm. Now we wouldn’t suggest you buy these just for the charm. But if you find value in wearing these for their intended purpose, the weapon charm is a neat bonus.
As mentioned earlier both pairs of glasses are relatively the same. Although there are a couple of differences. The Alpha pair is made from an engineered polymer frame and come with sturdy multi-barrel hinges. While the UAV pair has an Aluminum-magnesium forged frame and features flexible spring hinges. Each also has a slightly unique Modern Warfare III themed design. Both of these are available starting today with the Alpha pair retailing for $59.99 while the UAV retails for $99.99.
