A TikTok user, Angele Sofia, has been plagued (via BGR) by an iPhone alarm clock bug that jolts her awake every morning at 9:25 AM sharp. Many of you might wonder why she can’t simply turn off the alarm because the option is right there in the Clock app. However, the elusive alarm doesn’t appear in the Clock app. Despite Angele’s efforts to silence the alarm, it remains undeterred and chimes in every day. The issue has persisted for four to five years across different iPhones, she shared.
Despite silencing her phone, the alarm blares every morning at 9:25 AM. If the alarm doesn’t rouse her from her slumber, a persistent notification takes its place, ensuring that Sofia remains aware of its presence. This unusual behavior overrides the expected function of iPhone alarms, which should respect whether the phone is in silent mode or not.
This iPhone alarm clock bug isn’t looking to silence anytime soon
After her TikTok video went viral, several users came and dropped suggestions to help her fix this. Someone recommended that she set an alarm for the same time (9:25 am) and then disable it. Another suggested commanding Siri to delete all alarms or check her calendar app for reminders once. One unique solution was setting up a focus mode that mutes the iPhone from 9:24 to 9:26 am. However, no workaround seemed to work for her and the alarm kept buzzing daily at the same hour.
The only option left for Sofia was to perform a factory reset on her iPhone. However, resetting any phone is cumbersome because one must ensure backing up data before pressing the reset button. Despite the oddity of the situation, a factory reset seemed like the most logical solution. Sofia tried to contact Apple about this issue, but it seems that the company hasn’t responded.
