Summary: The iPhone 17 Air dummy has just surfaced, and it’s safe to say this design is controversial. Some of you may appreciate that camera bar on the back, though. Either way, there are four images for you to check out below.
Quite a few people questioned Apple’s choices when they laid their eyes on the very first leaked iPhone 17 Air images. Well, a dummy phone has just surfaced, and it doesn’t exactly make us feel better about the phone’s design.
The iPhone 17 Air dummy is here, and it doesn’t make the phone look any better
If you check out the images in the gallery below, you’ll see the device in question. This is a dummy unit provided by Majin Bu. It should what should look like a final design of the phone, or very close to it.
This dummy basically reaffirms the design Jon Prosser shared a while back. The iPhone 17 Air will be extremely thin, and will have flat frame, along with flat front and back sides. You can see how thin it will be here, compared to the iPhone 17 Pro.
The camera bar on the back is the part of the design that didn’t sit well with people. It does remind us of the Google Nexus 6P, there’s no way around it. It’s not the same, but that camera bar definitely brings back memories.

In any case, you can see that the camera bar sits at the very top of the back of the phone, and it’s pill-shaped. A single camera will be included, and it’s easily visible even on this dummy unit. It’s on the left side of the camera bar.
Based on the in-hand size these images provide, we can also see that this won’t be a small phone. A 6.6-inch display is tipped for the phone, though we cannot be 100% sure of that.
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to arrive alongside the other iPhone 17 models. It will arrive in September alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 Plus is not coming, this ‘Air’ model is here to replace it.
