iPhone 16 may launch in September with emphasis on two models

We are inching closer to the launch of the iPhone 16 series. Multiple leaks have already surfaced online revealing key information about the new series. The latest news hits that the iPhone 16 series will launch in September with an emphasis on two new models.

The display panels will enter mass production next month

The latest news comes from display analyst Ross Young. According to him, the company will start the mass production of the display panels of the iPhone 16 series next month. He also claims that Apple will put an emphasis on two of the four models – the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. These two models will reportedly have a relatively higher production volume as compared to the iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The iPhone 16 series could also offer bigger displays than its predecessor. According to a previous leak, the iPhone 16 could come with a 6.3″ display, which is noticeably bigger than the 6.1″ display of the iPhone 15. The iPhone 16 Pro Max may also offer a bigger 6.9″ display as compared to the 6.7″ display of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Following the tradition, the iPhone 16 series could launch in September.

The dummy units of the iPhone 16 series were also leaked online last month. It revealed the camera module design of the entire lineup. It highlighted the previously rumored vertical camera design of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.

The dummy units also have the rumored dedicated capture button. Another set of dummy units also revealed that the MagSafe components are also slimmer this time around. Apple may also offer a color-infused back glass to the iPhone 16 series alongside a coating technology for the camera lenses that will reduce lens flare.

Besides getting bigger, the display panels are also expected to become brighter. A rumor came out of China earlier this month claiming that the iPhone 16 Pro will offer a brighter display. As per the Weibo tipster Instant Digital, the phone will have a typical SDR brightness of 1200 nits, which is a 20% increase in brightness as compared to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple has indeed kept the SDR peak brightness at the same level since the iPhone 13 Pro, while Android flagships have improved a lot at least in this aspect.
